$18,000 to Protect What We Love
There is a word in our tradition: mitzvah, a commandment, an obligation. Protecting Jewish life is one of them.
We are raising $18,000 for our Security Fund because Jewish life cannot flourish where Jews do not feel safe. Security is not a luxury but the foundation upon which everything else depends.
When we gather publicly and proudly as Jews, security makes that possible. Most people never see the coordination behind the scenes, but it is there every time.
This fund allows us to:
- Provide professional security at CJA events
- Support Jewish organizations that need protection
- Safeguard student programming on campus
- Ensure speakers and cultural events can take place safely
- Respond quickly when concerns or threats arise
The $18,000 we are raising is practical. It covers guards, coordination, and the infrastructure that makes visible Jewish life possible in Chicago.
